KARACHI, March 26: Twenty-four vehicles — 11 cars and 13 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city in the past 48 hours, police said.

Three cars were hijacked an three others stolen on Monday. One motorcycle was hijacked and five others were stolen on Monday.

Three cars were hijacked and two others stolen on Tuesday. Three motorcycles were hijacked and four others stolen on Tuesday.

Police also claimed to have recovered eight vehicles in the past 48 hours in the city.

KILLED: A young man was shot dead in Malir City on Tuesday.

Police said Tariq alias Kochi, aged 25, was shot dead by Wahid Bakhsh in Dawood Goth, Malir City.

Police said Tariq was near his house in Dawood Goth, when the assailant, riding in a vehicle, came there and sprayed him with bullets. He suffered three bullet wounds and was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where he died.

Police said the victim was wanted in several cases by police in connection with drug business.

The assailant, identified as Wahid Bakhsh, was member of a rival drug gang and also a distant relative of the victim. The assailant was absconding.
