Asif helps team to victory

LAHORE, Nov 4: Five-goal Asif Zahoor steered Rangers Whites to a 8-3 1/2 win against Millat Tractors in the final of Lahore Polo Club Low goal tournament on Sunday.

Asif struck two goals in the first chukker on a field attempt to eliminate the 1 1/2 handicap lead of the opposition.

In the second chukker, Asif and two-goal Sameer Habib Oberoi added two and one goal, respectively to make it 5- 3 1/2 as Asif Tiwana added two for the losers.

The third chukker saw Ranger Whites dominate the field as Sameer and Shahzad Magoon struck one each to make the score 7-3 1/2.

And finally, Asif Zahoor banged home with his fifth in the fourth chukker, through a 40-yard penalty hit to seal the fate of the final.

Lahore Chatkhara earned third spot beating Pony Express 7- 5 1/2 in the subsidiary final.. Shah Qubilai Alam scored four for the winners while Samir Malik (2) and Arham Asad (1) were the other scorers. Agha Murza Ali Khan (3) and Syed Mohammad Raza (2) made contribution for the losers, who had half-goal handicap.
