MIRPURKHAS, Nov 4: Dozens of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz activists staged a demonstration and observed token hunger strike outside the local press club here on Sunday.They were demanding release of detained JSQM leader Dr Safdar Sarki as he had been granted bail by the court.

Protesters, led by district president of the Party, Faqeer Qaisar Khan Mari, deplored that his release order had been stopped for unknown reasons.

They demanded of the government to ensure immediate release of Dr Sarki. They observed token hunger strike.

Our Larkana correspondent adds: Activists of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz distributed pamphlets here on Sunday in which they gave province-wide shutterdown and wheel jam strike call for Monday.

The call was given against the arrest of Dr Safdar Sarki, central general secretary of JSQM, said Athar Soomro, the divisional president of JSQM Larkana.

In the pamphlet the transporters and traders were advised to shut down their businesses and keep their vehicles off the roads as they would be responsible for any damage in case of going against the advice.
