Aisam reaches last-eight round

LAHORE, Nov 2: Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq qualified for the Germany Indoor Championship quarter-finals, in Aachen, after defeating two local players in back-to-back matches.

In the first round, Aisam defeated Simon Stadler 6-3, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2) after two-and-a-half-hour long battle while in the second round, Aisam overcame fourth seeded Mischa Zverev 7-6 (3), 6-4.

Now Aisam will play Australian Open finalists Rainer Schuettler in the last eight.—Sports Reporter
