KARACHI, Oct 25: Veteran journalist and former Dawn staffer Hamdan Amjad Ali was laid to rest in a local graveyard on Thursday. The funeral was largely attended by journalists, relatives and friends.

He was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night for heart bypass surgery but died during the operation. Mr Ali was associated with the Jang Group of Newspapers.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad also expressed his sorrow over the demise of the senior journalist. In a condolence message, he said that the services of the deceased would be long remembered.
