GILGIT, Oct 21: The Northern Areas chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party has urged the government to arrange special PIA flights for shifting their workers wounded in the Karachi carnage on Oct 18.

They said that more than 20 workers from Gilgit were injured during the blasts and their families were worried about them.

PPP Northern Areas Legislative Council member Aftab Haider told Dawn that it was difficult for them to look after their wounded workers in Karachi and, therefore, wanted them to be shifted to Gilgit or Islamabad.

The PPP leader said they had set up reception camps in Karachi where hundreds of workers from Northern Areas were present and some of the workers became victim to the suicide attacks.
