KARACHI, Oct 7: A national literary Sindhi conference will be held on the campus of Karachi University on Nov17.

A KU spokesman said that the conference would be held under the auspices of the university’s department of Sindhi. He further said that the conference would focus on the Soomro period.

Research papers on progress made in social, cultural and literary spheres in Sindh during this era will be presented at the conference.

The pro-vice-chancellor of Karachi University, Prof Dr Akhlaq Ahmed, presided over a meeting of the organising committee in the Sindhi department to review the arrangements for the conference. Apart from the university professors, personalities from literary and cultural circles and media attended the meeting.—APP
