SHIKARPUR, Oct 7: District nazim Shikarpur Mohammad Arif Mahar has congratulated Gen Pervez Musharraf on his re-election as president.

He was at speaking at Iftar-dinner party at Wazirabad on Saturday evening. Mr Arif Mahar praised the national development policies and programmes of Gen Pervez Musharraf, including the district government system.

He claimed that President Musharraf was the only person who had protected the country when it came into the grip of serious domestic and internationals crises.

The taluka nazim Shikarpur, Zafar Ali Shaikh, taluka nazim Lakhi, Mohammad Imran Mahar, taluka nazim Garhi Yasin, Najaf Ali Kamaryo, Shaharyar Khan Mahar, taluka naib nazim Shikarpur Molvi Abdul Ghafoor Soomro and other PML leaders also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the President Gen Musharraf on his success. Zila nazim also distributed sweets among the public.

Meanwhile, the activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement staged demonstration at Lakhi Gate tower chowk on Saturday evening to express their happiness and solidarity with President Pervez Musharraf and to felicitate him on his victory.
