KARACHI, Oct 6: Sialkot stormed into the final of the PCB Inter-regional Under-19 Cricket Championship after chalking up their fifth straight victory in Pool ‘B’ by overwhelming Quetta by seven wickets at the Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala on Saturday.

After bowling out Quetta for 121 in the 43rd over, Sialkot raced to victory in the 27th over.

Lahore Ravi, meanwhile, consolidated their position at the top of Pool ‘A’ after pulling off a close six-run win over Abbottabad. They have now maximum 16 points after four wins in the seven-team group.

Umar Akmal, younger brother of Test wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal, continued his superb form in the championship by making 103 off 100 deliveries with 14 fours and two sixes as Lahore Ravi scored 301 for eight.

Abbottabad batted gallantly but just failed in the end after scoring 295 for nine.

Meanwhile, Karachi Urban opener Shahzaib Khan played a remarkable innings in the 10-wicket defeat of Hyderabad.

After Hyderabad were dismissed for 112, the hosts simply sprinted home in mere 6.3 overs. Shahzaib hammered an incredible 94 off only 29 balls with the aid of as many as eight sixes and nine fours. His partner Hafiz Asad Baig was reduced to a silent spectator. Asad’s shared in the unbroken stand of 114 was seven runs off 10 balls with one four.

Ali Haider starred for Lahore Shalimar, who finally scored their first points in the tournament with a four-wicket victory over Multan at the Gymkhana Ground in Okara. Ali struck an unbeaten 157 off 116 with 14 fours and 10 sixes.
