KARACHI, March 19: Bandits shot two men to death in the city on Tuesday.

Police said bandits, who were being chased by police after they committed a robbery, tried to take refuge in Mustafa Kamal Qureshi’s home in Gulzar-i- Hijri. When Qureshi put up resistance to the bandits, they opened fire and escaped. Mustafa Qureshi and his son Shariq were wounded.

Father and son were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared Mustafa Qureshi dead on arrival. Shariq was admitted to the hospital, police said.

Bandits shot a shopkeeper to death at his shop in Landhi No 4. Police said two bandits shot Sarwar Karamat, aged 35, to death.

The bandits had barged into his shop and demanded cash. When the shopkeeper tried to put up resistance to the bandits, they opened fire on him and escaped.

A police mobile, that was present close to the shop, chased the bandits and arrested them. They were identified as Shakil and Sultan. Police also recovered pistols from their possession.

The shopkeeper’s body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

A young man was stabbed to death and another shot and wounded in a quarrel in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.
