ATTOCK, Sept 29: The lawyers of Attock district on Saturday observed complete strike to protest against the candidature of Gen Musharraf for presidential election. The strike was called by Pakistan Bar Council.

The Attock DBA also called strike on Monday to condemn the police highhandedness against the lawyers and mediapersons in capital.

Meanwhile the lawyers of Attock district including President DBA Attock district Rana Afsar Ali Khan, member Supreme Court Bar Association Sheikh Ahsanuddin advocate, Azmat Ali Bukhari advocates and others strongly condemned the police baton-charge on various fellow lawyers and peaceful journalists.

They termed the police action as illegal and inhuman and said the government had failed to protect the fundamental rights of the people.

They demanded of the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of what they said brutal and inhuman act of the rulers.

However, legal fraternity will continue its struggle as reinstatement of the chief justice was the first phase of their struggle and now the next phase of this struggle of “Go Musharraf Go” would culminate in the elimination of military dictatorship, they claimed.

They have asked the rulers to pack up and send the army back to barracks in the better national interests, otherwise lawyers’ would send them back.
