HYDERABAD, Sept 24: The hunger strike by the students of Sindh Agriculture University against the university’s vice-chancellor entered its fourth day as one of the seven strikers was rushed to Hyderabad Civil Hospital on Monday in serious condition.

Doctors at the Civil Hospital administered Azha Rind glue drip to save his life. However, he came back to the camp as soon as he got better. Mr Rind and his fellow strikers Atta Wistro, Daman Leghari, Amanullah Junejo, Gul Hassan, Malik Shahid and Asif Abro are on hunger strike against the alleged massive irregularities committed by the university’s vice-chancellor.

The naib nazim of Qasimabad taluka, Hyder Shahani, secretary of Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, Hot Khan Gadhi, leader of Sindh National Students Federation, Hyder Shah, PPP MPA Zahid Bhurgri, Roshan Solangi, Iqbal Soomro advocate and university employees Hussain Bux Veesar, Karam Ali Abro and Shahmir Lochi visited the camp and expressed support for the students’ cause.—PPI
