KARACHI, Sept 24: Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani has said that the probe into the deaths of many people in the recent liquor tragedy was being conducted by a three-member committee and those found guilty would not be spared.

If any excise employee was found guilty of being involved in the supply of raw liquor, he would face strict action, he stated while talking to newsmen at an Iftar party hosted by him for ministers, advisers and members of the MQM coordination committee.

The minister said that licensed liquor shops were supposed to be kept closed during Ramazan and if any liquor shop operator was found violating the orders, he would face legal action.

Regarding the Tilak Incline torture cell, he said three inspectors had already been suspended and orders for the immediate suspension of five functionaries issued.—APP
