KARACHI, March 17: Seventeen vehicles — four cars and 13 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, police said.

One car was hijacked. Three others were stolen. Three motorcycles were hijacked. Ten others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Sunday to have recovered five vehicles (U-0136, ABR- 424, KAZ-3539, TRA-1977 and KCJ-6712) in the city.

ACCIDENTS: Ahsan, aged five, was run over by a KESC vehicle (No JS-1303) on Omar lane in Chakiwara while walking across the lane.

Police claimed to have arrested the driver of the KESC vehicle, Mohammed Sharif.

Kashif, aged 10, was seriously injured when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down near the PIDC House on M. T. Khan Road. The driver of the vehicle drove away after the accident.
