Published September 17, 2007

NAWABSHAH, Sept 16: The residents of Bandhi town held a protest demonstration against a 36-hours electricity breakdown here on Sunday.

The residents of ward No.6, Bandhi, staged the protest outside the local press club against the power breakdown in their area since the last 36 hours.

Protesters including Zafar Dahiri, Sarwar Birhamani, Shoaib Ahmed, Aijaz Ghori and others said that the power supply suspended on Friday evening after an explosion in a transformer.

They said that they had since then made several complaints to the Hesco officials concerned but in vain.

The protesters later surrounded the Hesco complaint centre and raised slogans against them.

They demanded of the Hesco chief to take notice and restore power supply by replacing the transformer.
