MANSEHRA, Sept 14: Fourteen people were killed and four others injured on Friday when a van plunged into the Kunhar River near Malakundi, some 75km northeast of here.The wagon carrying 18 passengers was going from Balakot to Mahandri in the Kaghan valley. The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle due to bad condition of the road.

The injured, Mohammad Rasool Bukhsh, Mohammad Siddiq, Abdul Rauf and Khanizaman, were taken to the civil hospital in Balakot where the condition of one of them was said to be serious.

Bodies of driver Mohammad Shaukat, Shirab Khan, Bugga Khan, Rafique, Ashraf and Mohammad Khalid were recovered from the river by police with assistance of the local people. Search for the remaining bodies was continuing.
