KARACHI, Sept 12: A gas explosion in an under-construction building of a chemical factory in Gulshan-i-Maymar left nine people injured on Wednesday.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire within half an hour while the injured, mainly the labourers, were pulled out and shifted to nearby hospitals.

“Though there was no serious injury as such, we shifted the victims to the hospitals for first aid,” said Mir Hussain Lahri, SPO Gadap. He said initial findings suggested that there was a gas leakage in the Continental Chemical factory.
