HYDERABAD, Sept 3: Journalists staged demonstrations in many cities and towns of the province on Monday in protest against kidnapping of Haji Khan Lashari and Amar Singh Rathore, office-bearers of Talhar press club.

In Hyderabad, Kawish and KTN group staged a procession, which started from the Sindh University Old Campus and terminated at the Hyder Chowk. The protesters condemned the journalists’ kidnapping and delay in their recovery.

In Tando Muhammad Khan, journalists staged a sit-in on the Hyderabad-Badin road. Various political parties and social welfare organisations also staged demonstrations outside the Talhar press club demanding early recovery of the kidnapped journalists.

Journalists in Tando Allahyar led by the president of the press club, Syed Karar Hussain, and general secretary, Hasrat Leghari, staged a demonstration outside the club demanding early recovery of their colleagues.

In Naushahro Feroze and Jacobabad, activists of political parties and general public took part in the journalists’ rally and staged a sit-in.

Activists of PPP, JSQM, JSSF, SUP and People’s Lawyers Forum led by Shabbir Mallah, Ibrahim Joyo, Darban Ali Shah (PPP), Syed Asif Mehdi Shah (JSQM), Masroor Sehto (JSSF), Abdul Razzaq Mallah (SUP), and Sadaruddin Ujjan (PLF) participated in the rally.
