KARACHI, Sept 2: Former Sindh governor Lt-Gen (retd) Moinuddin Haider has urged people from every segment of society to play their due role in promoting quality education in the country.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the new building of Government Boys Primary and Secondary School in Sultanabad. Mr Haider has adopted the school so as to ensure quality education to the children living in this part of the city.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that providing inexpensive and quality education to the children living in the downtrodden areas would prove to be a great service to the nation.

Highlighting the importance of education, Mr Haider said that uplift of education standards was the only key to gain a dignified position in the comity of nations.

He said when he had adopted the school, the building was in a very poor state but with the support of philanthropists, now this school was on a par with any modern school.
