KARACHI, Aug 26: The city government has announced that heart bypass facility will be made available at the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KIHD) towards the end of October this year.

The announcement was made a CDGK official on Sunday on the occasion of the KIHD’s first anniversary. He said construction of an operation theatre had already been completed whereas modern machinery and equipment, acquired recently, would be fixed soon.

The construction of a new zone, where children’s heart surgery would be performed, is under way, according to the official, who added that the ground floor of the zone was ready.

He said the initial grant of Rs400 million for the KIHD has been approved.—APP
