KARACHI, Aug 22: The city government’s food inspectors, along with officials of the Malir Town administration, raided a factory on a tip-off that spurious mineral water and soft drinks were being produced on its premises.

According to Malir Town Nazim Ansar Ahmed Sheikh, he had had received the information about the illegal business in the factory, located in Moinabad, Phase-3.

A team headed by TO Municipal Regulation Mohammad Asif and CDGK officials, including Food Inspectors Salahuddin, Zubair Ahmed and Hussain Soomro, was sent to the factory.

Upon finding the claim correct, the raiding team sealed off the factory and seized stocks of mineral water and soft drinks worth millions of rupees. There were, however, no reports of any arrest.—PPI
