Departmental basketball from Aug 25

KARACHI, Aug 18: With the exception of HEC, 10 affiliated units of the Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation (PABF) have confirmed their participation in the National Departmental Basketball Championship, which runs at the Arambagh floodlit court from Aug 25 to 30.

According to the PABF secretary Lt Col Naseem Butt, the units which have confirmed are the defending champions Army, Navy, PAF, Railways, Police, Wapda, Habib Bank, POF Wah, KESC and Rangers.

Naseem, who is also the tournament director, said the draws will be taken out during the managers’ meeting which takes place at the venue on Aug 24 at 7.00pm.

President PABF, Raja Basharat, who is the Punjab Law Minister, heads the organising committee. Other members are Naeem Shaikh, chairman, technical committee, and Abdul Nasir, organising secretary.

The event is being organised by the Karachi City District Amateur Basketball Association in collaboration with the PABF.—Sports Correspondent
