NOWSHERA, Aug 17: Five police officials of Sialkot were arrested by the local police on the order of a local court on Friday. A resident of the Abakhel locality — Imtiaz Begum, wife of Qazi Saiful Malook — filed an application in a local court calling for the arrest of some members of the Punjab police who, she alleged, had assaulted her and her family members inside her house, besides kidnapping her grandson, Qazi Samad, son of Qazi Hamad.

She said the police was reluctant to lodge an FIR in the case despite repeated requests. The court ordered the arrest of the suspects.

The Nowshera Kalan Police arrested Rana Gulzar, in-charge of investigations for the Murad China Chowk police station, Sialkot; Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ashraf; Head Constable Manzoor Ahmad; and constables Asif Nadeem and Sarfaraz Ahmad.
