KOHAT, Aug 13: The tribal administration has issued a list of stolen vehicles ‘impounded’ by the Taliban during their recent operation in Darra Adamkhel and asked their owners to collect them from the office of the assistant political agent of Frontier Region Kohat after producing the relevant documents.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the engine and chassis numbers of the vehicles involved are:

White Corolla, Engine number 1926542, chassis no EE90-3017059; White Mehran, Engine no 390780, chassis no SB-308PK-929263; White Mehran, Engine no 167437, Chassis no SB-308 PK-706366; Black Khyber, Engine no 269523, chassis no SA-310 PK-401982; Green Mehran, Engine no 199442, chassis no SB-308PK-737958; Sky Blue Corolla, Engine no Nil, chassis no EE-100-9037383; Black Honda chassis no NFBGE15156R127472; Light Green Corolla engine no 03415 Bin, chassis no KE20-086010; White Mehran, engine no 420826, chassis no SB-308 PK-618073; White Mehran, engine no 167787, chassis no SB-308 PK-706007; White Mehran, engine no 106945, chassis no SB-308 PK-644302; White Mehran, engine no 445577, chassis no SB-308 PK- 629736; and, White 2.DD Corolla, engine no 2404862, chassis no NZEE 120-6001330.

Meanwhile, local Taliban distributed leaflets, warning criminals to return looted money and vehicles to their lawful owners within a week and stop all illegal activity in the area or they would be killed.

Through the leaflets they also asked tribesmen not to provide shelter to ‘criminals and outlaws’ of the Mala Khel tribesmen against whom they had conducted ‘operation’ after killing their ring leader, Mir Said alias Charg last week. They also warned that nobody, except his women relatives, should visit the grave of Mir Said to offer Fateha. They also handed over two vehicles, a Honda Accord and a Corolla, to their owners which were recovered from the house of Mir Said.

It is important to note here that the local Taliban had sent Rs600 to Mir Said and asked him to refrain from wrongdoing. He was given a month’s deadline to renounce criminal activities.

In response, the Mir Said group offered the Taliban Rs10,000 to get shrouds for them. The Taliban subsequently killed him along with his accomplices near his house.
