NAWABSHAH, Aug 13: Panic spread among the doctors, paramedics and patients in the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital on Monday after an anonymous phone call regarding the presence of a bomb in the Accidents and Emergency unit.Dr Aman Pasha received the call from a mobile phone (0332-2472292) informing him that a bomb had been planted in the Accident and Emergency unit and it would detonate within 30 minutes.

The news rapidly spread throughout the hospital after which a large number of patients, doctors, paramedical and nursing staff rushed out of the Emergency and Accident Unit, A, B, C and D blocks and nursing hostel.

A heavy contingent of police and members of bomb disposal squad reached the hospital and combed different parts of it but no suspected material was found. Meanwhile a number of patients moved to private medical centres.
