SUKKUR, March 11: Two passengers of a Karachi bound bus were killed and at least one was injured when a group of armed bandits opened fire on a bus on Sunday night near Ruk Farm some 20km away from here.

A group of bandits intercepted the bus coming from Punjab and began looting its passengers.

When some of the passengers offered resistance and refuse to hand over cash and ornaments, the bandits opened fire and killed Mohammad Asghar son of Bashir Ahmed and Haq Nawaz son of Ilahi Bukhsh, both residents of Jalalpur Jattan. Fasihuddin and others were injured.

The driver sped up the bus to Pano Aqil where the bodies and the injured persons were shifted to a hospital.

Later SP, Ghotki, locked up the policemen posted at Serwer Chohan post as they were not present at the check-post when the incident took place.
