ISLAMABAD, Aug 8: World No. 18 Ong Beng Hee of Malaysia has been designated as top seed while four Pakistani players have also been placed in the main draw of the Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship beginning at Mushaf Squash Complex on August 15.

Another Malaysian Azlan Iskander as well as three other Egyptians will also be in the main draw of the US$25,000 championship.

Besides World no.28 Mansoor Zaman, the other Pakistanis getting straight berths in the championship are Aamir Atlas, Farhan Mehboob and Shahid Zaman.

Four Pakistanis will also figure in the August 16-17 qualfiers after pre- qualifiers on August 15. The main draw will commence on August 18.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Squash Federation will elect its new Senior Vice President at the Executive Committee meeting here on August 16. Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed, who is also the PSF President, has convened the meeting to discuss a multi-point agenda, including the election of a new SVP.

The incumbent SVP, Air Vice Marshal Inamullah Khan, had requested to be relieved of the post because of his professional preoccupation in the PAF as Inspector General.—APP
