KARACHI, Aug 4: Additional sessions judge, South, Sultan Ahmed Awan on Saturday imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on Yasmeen Sultana, who had acted as surety for Zahida, implicated in the murder case of actress Afreen Baig.

The court had earlier directed Ms Sultana to produce in court Zahida. On Saturday, Ms Sultana informed the court that she was unable to comply. The court fined her and directed that the sum must be paid within two weeks, while the next court hearing was scheduled for August 11.

A television producer, actress and singer, Ms Baig died under mysterious circumstances in October 2004 at her Clifton residence.
