KARACHI, July 30: Fire broke out in an industrial unit, operating in a house, in Korangi on Monday afternoon.

Fire-brigade sources said two fire engines were put in service and the fire was completely contained around 2:30pm in an hour-long operation. According to initial estimates, Rs80,000 worth goods were gutted in the fire. However, no loss of life was reported.

Police said a plastic moulding unit was operating at House No. B-578 in Sector-35, owned by Zahir Akhter. Eye-witnesses said the fire had reduced goods to ashes before the fire-tenders reached the spot.
