ISLAMABAD, July 24: Former national champion Saleh Mohammad chalked up the day’s biggest break (127) in his victory against Vishan Gir by four frames to one on the opening day of the 16th Snooker Cup ranking championship on Tuesday.

Surprisingly, 11th seed Sindh’s Imtiaz Sarwar edged Pakistan no.2 Abu Saim of Punjab 4-2, and Rawalpindi’s Shehram Changezi (seed no.16) beat seed no. 8 Imran Shehzad of Punjab 4-2.

Defending champion and Pakistan no.4 Khurram Agha performed break of 50 in his 4-3 victory over Atif Mughal.

In his another match, Khurram Agha defeated Mohammad Nazir 4-1.

Naveen Perwani lost one of his two matches when seed no. 12 Sohail Shehzad beat him 4-2 in group A of the preliminary round.
