10 more villages flooded

DADU, July 19: The breach in the MNV drain in Chappar Jamali village widened up to 300 feet from 40 feet and inundated 10 more villages. The worst affected villages were Radhani Mori, Shori, Khair Mohammad khan Solangi, Allah Ditto Solangi.

The SE Irrigation Southern-Western Circle Ghulam Haider Qureshi said doors of the MNV drain had been closed at zero point and water reduced from 12,000 cusec to 4,000 cusec.

He said water was reduced by half foot from Faridabad to the RD 346 along the FP embankment on western side of Dadu.

He said level of Manchhar Lake was 112.8 RL and 7,000 cusecs and water was being released into the River Indus from Aral Wah.

RELIEF: Relief goods have been provided to flood affected areas with the joint effort of Army and district government Dadu, said Lt-Col Amjad, In-charge Flood Relief and Rescue, on Thursady.

He was briefing the journalists at breach site RD 40 of Main Nara Valley (MNV) drain in Johi taluka. The DCO Dadu Aijaz Ahmed Mangi was also present there.
