Even ransom fails to win freedom

TOBA TEK SINGH, July 17: Kidnappers did not release a minor boy even after getting Rs500,000 ransom here on Tuesday. Police said Ahmad, 5, son of trader Haji Shamas Tabrez of Bilal Park, Gojra, was kidnapped from his village 306 JB a few days ago. Tabrez received mobile phone calls time and again from unidentified kidnappers who demanded Rs500,000 as ransom. On the direction of the kidnappers, Haji Shamas Tabrez reached Faisalabad and kept a moneybag in a field on Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road and saw two boys taking away the amount.

He then received a phone call from kidnappers who asked him to contact a woman, Rani, at Gojra where she was not found.

Meanwhile, Gojra city police have registered two kidnap cases.

The other case was that of one Dilawar, 12, who was abducted from Gulshan Zubaida Park, Gojra.
