KARACHI, July 16: Ammar Rana kept Combined Cricket Club’s (Faisalabad) chances alive for a place in semi-finals of the National Club cricket tournament when they outplayed Okara Gymkhana (Multan) by five wickets here on Sunday.

Ammar made 61 off 99 deliveries while Hamza Zaheer made 41 and Kamran Naeem hit an unbeaten 20, lifting left-arm spinner Ali Moazzam for a straight six to finish the game in style with 5.4 overs to spare. Mohammad Imran grabbed three wickets for 25.

Earlier, Okara Gymkhana Multan, batting first, were bowled out for 172 in 45.3 overs. Mohammad Naeem cracked 61 off 90 balls besides the 41 extras conceded during the innings by Combined CC.

Mohammad Talha claimed three wickets for 27 while Zahoor Khan and Shahid Ali got two wickets apiece.
