KARACHI, July 11: The Labour Party of Pakistan on Wednesday paid tribute to thelife and services of late labour leader C.R. Aslam.

Central leader of the party Nasir Mansoor in his statement appreciated the efforts of the late labour leader and termed his death as a great loss for the downtrodden and oppressed people of the subcontinent.

The statement said Mr Aslam had played a vital role in the formation of the Pakistan Trade Union Federation and the Pakistan Kisan Committee to bring about a positive change in the social status of the neglected segment of society.

Mr Mansoor pledged to follow in the footsteps of C. R. Aslam and serve the people with the same zeal as he had done. He announced that a reference would be held at the end of this month to shed light on the labour leader’s services.
