PESHAWAR, July 5: NWFP Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Hussain Ahmad Kanju has said efforts will be made to establish closer ties with neighbouring countries, particularly Iran.

He was talking to Iranian Consul-General Mohammad Eghbal Asghri at the Iranian Consulate here on Thursday.

The minister, who recently visited Iran, said there should be interaction and exchange of educational, cultural, youth and archaeological delegations between the two countries.

He said a high-level meeting had been convened to take practical steps in this regard.

He said he was quite impressed by the education system in Iran and he had talked to provincial minister for education Maulana Fazl-i-Ali Haqqani in this connection.—APP
