KHAIRPUR, July 3: Radio Pakistan Khairpur has played an important role in the province, particularly upper Sindh, said MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah Jilani.

He said this while inaugurating the computerised transmission of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation on Tuesday.

He said the computerised transmission will make radio station compatible to changing world scenario. Many artists of world fame like Sohrab Faqir, Ghulam Hussain Faqir, Urs Bhatti and instrumentalists were introduced by Khairpur radio station, he said.

He called upon the radio management to broadcast original recordings of Ustad Allah Dino Khan Noonari, Ustad Khair Mohammad Khan, Jeenvni Bai, Mai Allah Rakhi without a re-mix.

He also appealed for broadcasting recordings of Bhagat vocalists, including Bhagat Kanwar Ram, Master Chandar, Bhagat Jaro, Mohan Bhagat and others through Radio and electronic media and preserving recordings through computerised system.

He said the government's approval to establish the FM radio was a good gesture.

Station Director Mohammad Ali Bhambhan and Programme Manager Mukhtiar Malik also spoke on the occasion.
