KARACHI, July 3: The fathers of the two girls who were gang-raped early this year appeared on Tuesday in the Sindh High Court seeking transfer of their cases from Dadu and Mirpur Mathelo to Karachi.

Accompanied by a team of lawyers, Ghulam Nabi Soomro, father of Kainat Soomro, and Hamza Albano, father of Nasima Albano, filed a petition in the high court seeking transfer of the cases to a sessions court in Karachi.

In the application, filed on their behalf by advocates Zia Awan, Abdul Hadi and Aman Shireen Khattah, the petitioners submitted that their daughters and family members were receiving threats by the respondents and it was very difficult for them to pursue the cases in their hometowns.
