KHAIRPUR, July 2: Four persons of a family were killed and two injured in Darya Khan Rind village late on Sunday night. According to reports some eight to 10 armed men attacked the house of Liaquat Rind in the jurisdiction of A-Section police station Khairpur and opened fire on the sleeping family.

As a result his three sons Sadaqat Ali-18, Farhan 5, Imran 8, and a woman Gulnar 55 wife of Darya Khan died on the spot while his daughter Zehra 12 and nephew Asif were seriously injured.

Later, the armed men escaped.

The bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital Khairpur and were handed back to relatives after post-mortem.

The two injured children were admitted into the hospital. The motive behind the incident was said to be old dispute between the two groups of Rind community.

On the complaint of Javed Rind, 10 accused have been booked in the FIR under section 302, 324, 147, 148,149, Pakistan Penal Code, with the A-section police.
