KHAR (Bajaur Agency), July 1: The political administration has arrested 16 tribal elders from Salarzai tehsil under the territorial responsibility clause of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR).

The arrests were made to reach the people responsible for killing six persons in two bomb blasts, in Malasaid and Salarzai areas.

The administration has expedited investigation into the cases.

Wisal Khan, political tehsildar of Salarzai, Malak Mohammad Ayaz Khan, a tribal elder, Noor Hakim Khan, a local journalist, and a jawan of the Bajaur Levis Force were killed in a bomb blast in Salarzai a few weeks ago. Another bomb blast in Malasaid took the life of Dr Abdul Ghani Khan, an agency surgeon, a few months back.

The arrested tribal elders were guarantors of the suspected people held during the investigation of murder case of Dr Abdul Ghani.

The authorities seized vehicles of the elders to pressurise them to help police reach the people responsible for the killing of the six people.
