KARACHI, June 26: The inefficiency and negligence of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has not only affected the civic life but also ruined the business and industrial activities in the city.

This was stated by the acting president of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Saqib Naseem. He was talking to the markets representatives who called on him in his office on Tuesday.

Expressing anger over frequent and unannounced power cuts, he urged the president, prime minister, Sindh governor and chief minister to intervene.

Mr Naseem also pointed out that traffic jams in the city had become a routine problem attributable to the slow pace of work on various road projects and the recent spell of rains had further aggravated the situation.

He urged the city government to deploy more manpower for draining out stagnant water from roads and ensure timely completion of road projects.—PPI
