KARACHI: Anti-polio drive starts

KARACHI, March 5: Provincial secretary of health Khalid Latif Chaudhry on Tuesday visited Jamshed and Saddar towns on the first day of the ongoing three-day polio eradication campaign.

He was accompanied by EPI project director Shamsunnisa; EDO health Karachi, Dr Nawaz A. Shaikh; and THO Saddar, Dr Nausheen Keyhar.

They visited Sindh Government Pirzada Hospital, Muslimabad; SNMA Maternity Home, Soldier Bazar; and MCH Centre.

The health secretary was briefed about field working of different teams. He called for holding daily meetings of supervisors and workers and sought reports on a daily basis.

Mr Chaudhry also visited Karachi Cantt Station and monitored administration of anti-polio drops to children accompanying passengers on trains and asked the officials to check all the exit and entry points of the station and ensure administering of anti-polio drops to children of below five years of age.—PPI
