KARACHI, March 5: A new curriculum for the discipline of Statistics at BSc and MSc levels has been developed for the entire country.

This was stated by a spokesman for Karachi University on Tuesday.

He said the new curriculum had been adopted at the meeting of the National Curriculum Committee held in Lahore with Prof Zahid Mahmood in the chair.

It was stated that the curriculum developed for BSc and MSc degrees in Statistics would include core courses in Statistics along with a variety of optional courses.

New courses on official Statistics, Biostatistics and Epidemiology have been included. Statistics being crucial for IT, a new course named ‘Statistics and Information Technology’ has also been framed. — APP
