KARACHI, March 5: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said students are a trust of the nation and it is the responsibility of the teachers to prepare them mentally, equip them with knowledge of their history and arrange for their better training.

He was speaking as chief guest at the annual awards distribution and inaugural ceremony of a computer laboratory at the Ship Owners’ College, North Nazimabad, on Tuesday.

The City Nazim said the nations who forgot their history could find no future for themselves and, as such, we needed to inculcate our children with our past.

He called for training the youth on ideological basis so as to make their future secure and stable.

The City Government, he pointed out, had decided that admissions to educational institutions would be held on the basis of merit to raise educational standard in the country.

He said efforts would be made to solve the problems of the Ship Owners, College and steps would be taken to provide a transport route and ground facilities for the students.—APP
