KARACHI, March 4: Twenty-seven vehicles — 13 cars and 14 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Monday, the police said.

Eight cars were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

Six motorcycles were hijacked. Eight others were stolen.

The police also claimed on Monday to have recovered three cars and three motorcycles in the city.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A 12-year-old boy died in a road accident in Nazimabad on Monday.

The police said that Ghufran was running after kites along with other children near Sir Syed College in Nazimabad, when he was run over by a rashly- driven minibus of route F-22.

He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died. The boy’s father reached the hospital and identified his son. The accident victim was resident of Pak Colony, the police said.

The police claimed to have arrested the minibus driver, Mohammed Ghazafi.

A ten-year-old girl Salma was crushed to death beneath the wheels of a train near Baloch Colony on Monday night.
