KARACHI, June 13: The Sindh Chief Secretary, Shakil Durrani, has directed the relevant officials to devise a realistic strategy regarding the construction and repair of buildings in a transparent manner.

He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting at his office here on Wednesday. The meeting discussed steps to evolve a strategy for the rehabilitation and expansion of the shrines of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah, and decided to enhance inter-departmental coordination in this regard.

It was decided that the steering committee, under the supervision of the additional chief secretary planning, in collaboration with the provincial and district governments, would take steps for the rehabilitation and expansion projects of both shrines.

It was decided that the DCO Jamshoro would supervise work relating to the provision of water and sewerage system, parks and other infrastructure at the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, while the DCO Matiari would oversee the work for Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s shrine.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary Planning, Ghulam Sarwar Khero, Secretary Minerals, Abdul Ham-eed Akhund, Project Dire-ctor Village Improvement Progr-amme, Shafiqur Rehman Par-acha, Secretary Auqaf, Dr Baz Mohammad Junejo and DCO Matiari, Dr Usman Chachar.
