KARACHI, June 10: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has directed the officials concerned to accelerate the pace of uplift work at Korangi 8000 Road with the help of additional machinery and complete the Rs1.35 billion worth project in 45 days.

He issued the directive while inspecting the sewerage line and construction works at 8000, 6000 and 3000 roads in Korangi. He instructed the officers and engineers to complete the work of laying of sewerage line from Chamra Chowrangi to Treatment Plant at Road 8000 within one week.

The water and sewerage board representatives informed the nazim that a 32km-long sewerage line was being laid on both sides of the 8000, 6000 and 3000 roads at a cost of Rs400 million.

Korangi Association of Trade and Industry Chairman Masood Naqi, DCO Javed Hanif, Tameer-i-Karachi Project Director Rauf Akhtar Farooqui, EDO Amanullah Chachar and other officers from the FWO and the city government were also present.—APP
