THATTA, June 9: The chief of Awami Tehrik, Rasool Bux Palijo, has said that it was a tragedy that Sindhi intellectuals, writers and leader of a nationalist party had transferred their loyalties to an ethnic group involved in massacre of Sindhis and added that such people would be held accountable.

Speaking at a gathering of party workers and people from different walks of life which was organised to pay homage to late hari leader comrade Ali Mohammad Sodho, in Daro town late Friday night, Mr Palijo claimed that recent Karachi carnage was an ample proof of this group's misdeeds.

The AT chief said that besides these loyalists, Sindhi ministers in provincial cabinet were also responsible for depriving Sindhi people of their rights.

These ministers, Palijo added, in lust for power have their own agenda and interests and never raise their voice on national issues.

He said Sindh was passing through a crucial time and confronting major issues like Kalabagh Dam, Greater Thal Canal, NFC award and grant of citizenship to non-nationals under a conspiracy in Sindh.

The Sindhi ministers were bound to fight for the rights of Sindh, but the so-called representatives of Sindh served the cause of MQM, he said.

Commenting on prevalent political situation, Mr Palijo said that constitution does not allow the army to play any part in country's politics.

He lamented that none of the district councils throughout the province has passed any resolution condemning the May 12 carnage in Karachi.

He said that Awami Tehrik would continue to fight for the rights of people of Sindh. He urged all the nationalist parties to launch a joint struggle to bring Sindh out of crisis.

Hafeez Kumbhar, Vishno Mal, Gul Hassan Kerano, Malik Luqman Malkani, Haroon Sodho and others also spoke on the occasion.
