KOHAT, May 27: Police foiled an attempt to smuggle arms and ammunition from Darra Adam Khel to Punjab late Friday.
On a tip-off, the SHO of the Lachi police station dispatched a police party to the Burki Algada area of Lachi, 22km from here. On seeing police, the smugglers carrying gunny bags ran away.
Police found 10 Kalashnikovs, ten 7mm rifles, 20 pen pistols and 200 rounds of 30 bore pistol.
Police have registered a case against unidentified people.
