KARACHI, May 18: The mayhem of May 12 in Karachi was a conspiracy against the solidarity of the country and the tragedy demand investigation by a national commission. These views were expressed by prayer leaders in city mosques during their Friday sermons while observing ‘Yaum-i-Dua’ on the call of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal against May 12 tragedy.

At the Friday congregations, resolutions were also adopted condemning perpetrators of the tragedy. The resolutions said once again attempts were being made to destroy city’s peace.

It said that May 12 was the proof of incompetence and failure of the rulers. Terming supremacy of judiciary inevitable for the survival of the country, the resolution said those involved in attacks on the judiciary and making the chief justice non-functional had pushed the country into a crisis.
