KARACHI, May 17: Various parts of the city on Thursday either went without water or received scant supply in the persisting hot and humid weather conditions. The situation added to the miseries of citizens, besides giving a boost to the sale of water through private tankers in the affected areas.

The worst-hit localities included Baghdadi, Kalri, Daryabad, Nawabad, Ranchor Lane, Ramswami, parts of Garden East, Pakistan Chowk, Haqqani Chowk, Bath Island, Gulshan-i-Faisal, Clifton’s blocks 2, 3, 4 and 5, Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s blocks 13-D and 13-D/1, Al-Hilal Society, different blocks of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Manzoor Colony, Mehmoodabad, North Nazimabad’s blocks P, Q and R and North Karachi’s sectors 5-C, 7D/2, 7D/3, 11-A and 11-B.

Around 2,000 houses in the ‘E’ Market area of PECHS and surrounding localities are not receiving water for the past 11 days. Residents of these areas said that the KWSB officials were not taking measures to rectify the fault responsible for the suspension of water supply despite repeatedly made complaints.
